  • My Journey for Immigrant Visa

    Hello to all Forum Readers,

I am notifying my Immigrant Visa journey to all readers who are undergoing their Petition for Immigrant Visa.

    My wife is USC.

    Filed I-129 (K3-Visa) on Jan-2010
    Reciept Notice Received on Feb-2010
    Filed I-130 Petition on Feb-2010
Receipt Notice Received on End Feb-2010
    Approved both I-129 + I-130 on March 2010 together
Dropped the plan for K3 Visa as we received approval for I-130 Petition at same time
Forward the Case to NVC on March 2010
    NVC assigned the case#
NVC demanded the choice of Agent form (DS-3032)
Assigned my wife to be agent for receiving any correspondance from NVC
NVC generated AOS (Affidavit of Support ) Fee ($70) + IV Visa Fee ($400) on April 2010
Paid both fees online and status showed PAID after 3 days of payment
NVC requested to submit Immigration Form (DS-230) + Affidavit form I-864 on May 2010
DS-230 Form sent directly to NVC from my side through DHL courier on July 2010
I-864 submitted by my wife from United States on July 2010
<<<We delayed 45 days to submit above FORMS as we were looking for Joint sponsor>>>
NVC sent the checklist to me to provide (Original Birth certificate, Original Marriage Certificate, Original Police Clearance, 2 Photographs)
Again sent the required originals by me through DHL on Aug 2010
<<<Took nearly 3 weeks to get the Indian PCC>>>>
Sent directly by me to NVC by DHL courier
I request NVC to change my Preference category from CR1 to IR1 coz, our second marriage anniverssary already passed in July 2010.
NVC took 45 Days to approve the IR1 category and approved on NOV 2010
Case completed on end Nov 2010
NVC forward the case to U.S Embassy - Chennai and appointed Jan 2011 Interview schedule.

Finger crossed and desperate to face the Interview.

    Good Luck to Everyone

      Interview Done! Visa Approved!!!

      Dear Readers,

Let me continue the journey from where I paused. Last week I had my interview done at Chennai U.S.Embassy.

      Appointed Time: 10:AM
Entered @ 9:30AM (Never arrive early coz, they will simply make u wait in harsh humid weather)

Desi Guy took all the docs including Medical report and others @ 10:15AM

Long wait, wait wait till 12: 15PM

      American Consular Called...

CO: Good Afternoon, How u doing?
Me: Greeted back and asked How about you?
      CO: Well, quiet hard day
Me: ??? (I was deeply shock in my heart thinking, she will grill me now)
      CO: Who is ur petitioner?
      Me: Wife
      CO: What she doing?
      Me: Answered
      CO: What is your qualification?
      Me: IT Manager
CO: Do you have any job scopes?
Me: Yes coz, IT market is growing 22% every year
CO: When you like to Travel or any expected date?
Me: After one month coz, i have to give 30days notice for my current job.
CO: Ok Good, your visa approved, you will get ur passport after one week.

      CONGRATS!!! HAHAHAHA
