I have a GC through marriage to a US citizen. When time comes to renew it, do I need to be physically present in the U.S. for a particular period of time before filing? Is there a requirement or rule of thumb that USCIS follows on how long a GC holder needs to be physically present to get a Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence approved? Thanks!

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.

No, but you have to not abandon residence, just like any other green card holder. What constitutes abandonment of residence is subjective.

When it comes to renewing a marriage-based green card, understanding the requirements and process can be quite overwhelming. The physical presence rule is one of the key things to consider, especially if you’ve spent significant time outside the U.S. during the process. While researching the best options, I came across a platform that provides helpful connections and advice on various aspects of life in the U.S. For example, if you're looking to meet new people or network tendermeets login has been a great resource. It helped me connect with individuals who had similar experiences, offering valuable insights into navigating both personal and legal matters related to immigration.Last edited by TamilaHenderson; 09-03-2025, 06:50 AM.
