  • Family based greencard

Hi, this might be a little late and processes now might have changed but I wanted to share my experience nevertheless

    Married: Feb 2020 (American citizen)
Applied for marriage based green card: April 2020
Received EAD and Advance parole: May 2021 after multiple attempts to contact USCIS and Ombudsman and Congressman
Interview: Dec 2021, provisional green card granted as marriage was just short of 2 years
Applied for removal of conditions on green card: Oct 2023
Current status: Case in processing, green card extended till Dec 2027. Case expected to be processed in Nov 2027 Can travel but there is additional scrutiny at international airports. Plan to be there a bit early.

    Hi,
Thanks so much for sharing your experience! This is really helpful for anyone going through the process right now. Your timeline makes it clear how long things can take these days, especially with EAD/AP delays and I-751 processing times.
It’s good to know that traveling with the extended green card is allowed, even if CBP gives a bit of extra scrutiny. your tip about arriving early is super practical. Overall, this is a great reminder that patience is key, and your experience will definitely help others manage expectations.
    Thanks once again.
