  • F3 case rejected because of travel ban - what can we do?

After waiting 15 years, today my sister and her kids had an interview. My mom (US citizen) petitioned for them. They didn’t get visa and they were rejected because of USA visa ban. Can we do something about the embassy’s decision? The letter says: … ineligible under 212(f). It also says that “Today’s decision can not be appealed”.

If their nationality is one of the countries in the travel ban, then they were clearly going to be denied. Do they have a second nationality? Did they have a valid US visa on June 9, 2025? Were they in the US on June 9, 2025?

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.

They are not in the US, and yes, their nationality is one of the listed countries. We are very upset. They could have simply chosen not to schedule an appointment for the applicants for that same reason. Instead, they put her and the children through so much financial and emotional stress.
