Spouse sponsored green card birth certificate requirement

Hi I am on H1b visa. Got married to US citizen in USA. I don't have birth certificate. Do I need one to apply for the spouse sponsored green card?...

You will either need an official birth certificate (not one from the Embassy of your country of citizenship) from where you were born OR an official letter (from the authority) stating that no birth-cert is available.
