  • Help needed: H1B into Greencard (timing)

    My second term H1B ends October 2006 and I (and my employer) want to start the Greencard process.

    I have heard that:
    1. I have to start the Greencard process 1 year before the end of the second H1B term?;
    2. That the term starts at the first entry under the first term of H1B, not at the issue date?
    3. that it is possible to get an extension for 1 more year under H1B?

    Could anybody confirm or deny the above or provide extra advice?

    Thanks

    Frank

      Start GC ASAP

      My simple advice would be to start the greencard process right away without any atom of delay since the road to gc can sometimes be fraught with "unpredictables". Pls, the advice is based on pure intuition not on legal expertise.

      If you get replies to #2 and #3, I am interested. Ciao.

        HIB for the 7th year

        For H1B visa for the 7th year, see https://www.immihelp.com/usa-visas/ and click on "H-1B beyond 6 years" under H visa. I hope this helps. Best wishes. Ciao.
