any advantage of concurrent filing of 140 and 485 ??

Hi,

My labor was approved on April 15th. I am planning to file 140 and 485 in the month of july. My employer has been stressing on applying 140 and 485 concurrently. While i am suggesting him to apply 140 by premium processing by july 5th. So that we can get the decision by july 22-23. And if 140 gets approved, then file 485 immediately.

Please advise me which option is better? Also employer is saying that if i apply concurrently, i don't need to do premium processing for 140. he didn't tell me why?

Any info is highly appreciated.

when you apply 140 and 485 parallely you get your 140 receipt # which is good enough to process your 485 - in this case premium is not required. Premium is just to get your case status < 15 days which cost you leg and arm.
Also remember after july 30, the price is getting high and you need to speed up the process.

if you get a RFE on 140 and numbers are gone for the year, would the case get retrogessed?
