I will be submitting my I-140 online and will be sending the supporting documents by mail. Can i spiral bind the documents or do i need to file them using fasteners??

Why do you think of unconventional things like binding? Just use the normal procedure for document submission.
USCIS could want part of the file sent to some other officer to take a look and binding will be a problem.
