  • Approved I-140,H1B extended after 6 years,change of employer

    Hi,
I have got approved I-140 and based on that my H1B visa got extended till 2011 applied through same employer because I was about to complete 6 years.
Now due to recession, my employer will terminate my employment if I don't find a new project and they are not giving me the copy of approved I-140.
Now after they terminate will I be able to transfer my H1B visa to a different employer and will it be valid till 2011 (as it is now) after the transfer?

You need a copy of the I140 approval to be safe in case of an RFE.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.

So, What if i have I-140 copy and i want to change the employer after 6 years.

I have a approved I-140 photo copy and my 6 years have passed last year.

What are my options if i want to change the employer now and file for new I-140.

would it be possible to get back the previous priority date?
