Is a Misdemeanor conviction a problem for 7th year extension

Does anyone know if h4 7th year extension will work for someone with a criminal conviction? The conviction is a small Misdemeanor, called shoplifting 6months ago.do I OR my husband will have problem with extension.I dint do it but was a mistake and I paid fine for that.please any help would be appreciated.
