Company layoff after EAD is through

  • Company layoff after EAD is through

    what happens if company lays off when I-140 is done and applied for consular processing,
    and the person is waiting for CP interview.

    is it possible to to continue the CP processing even after company lays
    someone off if EAD is done since applied for both adjustment of status and
    AC consular processing and EAD is now done.

    is it posible that once EAD is obtained employer can be changed?? and consular
    processing can be continued even after lay off??

    Many people think that once they get EAD, they can change jobs, leaves employer. If that had been the case, there would be no need for actual GC.

    EAD is valid only as long as the job is there based on which you got it.

    If you are laid off after getting EAD, it is invalid.

    And you should also not attend CP interview, as the job for which CP is being done is no more there.
