I was just told from 1st oct,2002 all immigrant visa processing posts in the world will have their cases clerically reviewed at NVC.
1 The Immigrant Visa Application processing fee bill and the Affidavit of Support (AOS) processing fee bill are mailed to the attorney of record (AOR) 2-4 weeks from the receipt of a current case from INS.
2 AOR returns to St. Louis in the envelope provided the
payment of $65 and fee bill.
IV payment of $335 for each applicant on the petition who is traveling at the time of the interview and fee bill. Note: Fees must be paid with a cashier’s check or money order.
3 The lock box in St. Louis processes the payment and forwards the fee payment information to NVC (processing time for the bank is approximately 1 -2 weeks)
4 A packet of forms and instructions are mailed to the attorney of record (AOR). The packet consists of the following:
Affidavit of support (I-864)
DS-230 Part I
Instructions for Immigrant Visa Applicants
5 AOR completes the necessary forms and compiles the necessary supporting documents (i.e. tax returns, W-2s, job letter/pay stub, original or certified copies of birth and marriage certificates, etc.)
6 AOR returns all documents and forms to NVC (including the bar-coded sheet with the case number)
7 NVC reviews all the documents and forms for completeness. Up to two checklist letters may be sent for missing or incomplete information. (Processing time for review is approximately 2-3 weeks from receipt)
8 The case record is qualified if all the required forms and documents have been received
9 The electronic data and physical case files of cases are forwarded to post
Any one hear about this also?
