Are IRS transcripts neededat the CP interview

IRS papers are not required at interview.

I appeared interview at Mumbai on June 26, 2002. Nobody asked me for IRS transcripts.

But, it is recommended to collect it(last 3 years. e.g. 2001,2000,1999) from IRS by giving 1 call. That contact no. is found on this web portal Or another portal.

IRS transcripts are required

I had successful interview on 23rd of July. Yes. they did ask for Tax documents. The lady at the counter said even W2 would do. Since I had IRS transcripts, I submitted those. Another friend of mine showed W2s.

IRS transcripts are not required documents as such.
You do need copies of filed tax returns for the last 3 years.
If you don't have copies then definitely get transcripts otherwise its your choice.
Also definitely take W2's as additional documents.

I submitted copy of tax returns for recent 3 years. They kept latest one and returned the previous 2 years.
