Be optimistic , hope for the best. My agent has send me packet3 documents so that as soon as they receive my Pkt 3 from NVC they can send this to them. This may save some time. But I read in this site(in consular process - Packet 3) that some consulates do not need to send Pkt3 back to NVC. We can directly go to the consulate with the PKT3. Have you got any ***; about this. Which are those consulates , named "beta consulate."

I don't know about sending packet III directly to the consulate. Anyway, Good Luck to you.

We got our I-140 approval notice. Unfortunately, INS has approved our petition for Adjustment of Status instead of CP though we had clearly indicated CP. If we still want to go ahead with CP, then we have to file I-824 and it will take about 3 months to get processed and then INS will send the case to NVC. I guess by the time we get the interview date, it will take about 6 to 8 months from now. So, we have decided to go ahead with I485.

I have read on this forum about guys with similar situations.

Hello folks,
Just read the messages on this forum and since you'll have been in this situation I wanted to know your views:
My I-140 was approved on july 11th, my attorney recvd the receipt from the INS on july 18th and apparently my I140 was filed under CP at chennai.If I go ahead with CP then what is the likelihood of getting an interview date by the end of this year?
Your responses will help be decide on AOS or CP.
