I am exactly in the same situation like you. I have already filed all the paper work in April this year for CP and expecting interview in couple of months, just like you. My personal circumstances now dictate me to adjust the status while remaining in the US (by filing I-485) instead of going for CP at New Delhi. I have consulted three lawyers to get their advice on this matter. They have different opinions to solve this problem, however, it is possible to do so. No one told me exactly what course of actions to be taken. So far, my employer has sent letters to INS, NVC and New Delhi to inform my intent to adjust the status in US. This afternoon, I have received a letter from NVC, stating that I must file a form "Notification on Approved Immigrant Visa" to local INS office, before I could proceed further.
Please post your experiences, if anyone has done it before.

I contacted NVC this morning to find out more about the form "Notification of Immigrant Visa Approval" that I received yesterday from NVC. They told me "Simply disregard this letter and contact INS to move your file from New Delhi back to INS. I havn't yet got chance to speak with INS in this regard.
