PCC Mumbai - Very Important

Dear Friends
I had sent email to Mumbai consulate at [email protected]
and asked them that I have already collected "No criminal record" from Mumbai consulate and do I need additional PCCs?
Following is their reply -
No, you do not need to obtain any additional police certificates since you are now residing in the U.S. The certificates issued by the Indian Embassy/Consulate suffice.

I urge guys to send similar email to Mumbai consulate with their case number, name and interview date so we all can share the reply

PCC

When did you send the email? There are some guys who were not issued Visa on 22nd May at Mumbai consulate because they did not have local PCC though they are currently living in US. Per them its a new requirement.

I read all those articles yesterday and I sent email yesterday evening on May 28 th of US Houston time. Today morning I got the reply from Mumbai consulate which means they replied on May 29th of theirs. I would urge that whoever has interivew scheduled, pl. send similar emails. Mumbai consulate is very professional in replying to the emails. And pl. let us all know the reply so we can sort out the truth and try to do something well ahead of time.

Guys Let us not abuse the system. If they said a PCC is not needed for one person, then it applies to everyone in the similiar situation.

If you flood them with emails, they will take this nice service, the only way of communication away - Lets be sensible and Responsible.

i don't think it will abuse the system. There are people who have raised this issue and that has been really bothering me and some other people who are in the similar boat. So if at least 3/4 people try to send similar email and get the same reply then we can reconfirm the fact that local pcc is not needed and that can save lot of trouble to other people.
I am still not sure about the people who have raised this issue because one way they are telling that the local pcc is needed but nobody is coming ahead and telling how to do it.

Hi Folks,

I'm confused here whether local pcc from mumbai is required or not.I did try to get the local pcc but they're asking for the original passport & their are other problems as well.I did got though, the pcc from indian embassy here in us.If some expert here who must have done consular processing very recently in mumbai can clear the confusion & share his or her experience would be great.
