For CP, what do I need to do, if I am unable to get my birth certificate.

As far as chennai consulate you have to produce non-availability certificate. Secondly you have to do two affidavit of birth certificiate.

Is it necessary to get non-availability certificate ?

Since the place I was born in the north india, moved to south 30 yrs ago, have no way getting non-availability.

will just 2 affidavits will do ?

Yes kms, two affidavit is fine. If you cannot get non-availability certificiate please call your consulate & clarify.

What two affidavits are you guys talking about ? The instructions just mention one affidavit which is executed by one of your parents or a close relative stating your date and place of birth. What is the second affidavit for ?

Yes, two affidavits ie one is signed by mother & another one is by father.

After I140 you will receive P3 from NVC. After mailing P3 you will get interview within 45 to 60 days.
