Thought I should pass along this info:

Just called Mumbai, my interview date is Dec 28.
Case# created on Oct 16.
AC-140 with I-824 filing receipt reached Mumbai on Oct 6.

My I140 approval date on Sep 26,00, but up today I didn't receive any Packet 3.

timeline for me

here is time line for me

I-140 approved : July 24
Packet 3 received by Lawyer : Sept second week.
Pd : June '99

So probaly if NVC is taking same time then you should
receive it in this or next week.Probably you should
call NVC to check staus(to atleast see it has reached them)

Is it really necessary to carry I-824 receipt?

Folks,

Does anyone know for sure if the I-824 receipt is required for CP at Mumbai??

I have applied for AC-I140. (I have NOT applied for AOS) Mumbai received my package on Sept 14th. They assigned a case# on Sept 19th and my namecheck was completed on Sept 28th.

I have corresponded with them twice regarding my date but both times they asked me to wait till Nov 15th, saying that the interview will most probably be in Dec.

I did not explicitly ask them about the I-824 and neither did they mention anything in their replies.

Does anyone know if I am required to file form I824 and carry a receipt with me? I am concerned that it may be too late to do that.

When I called them last night, they told me that their system was down. And you guys seemed to have gotten through!! Wonder what's happening?

(Must be many more than those who have posted below).

It would have been nice if Mumbai put up the
appointments for the next month on the web site
as soon as they are decided.
