INS Memo Re: I-824 and Ajustment of Status

I am planning to do ACP in Mumbai and thats why my
lawer filed I-824, a few weeks ago.

What are the implications of this memo for cases like mine?

Should I not go for ACP ?

Yes, I filed I485 in August 2000 and lawyer
says not to go ahead with ACP in Mummbai because
of this memo.

Any suggestions ?

Devanga : I am puzzled. You say your lawyer filed I824 (after I485 was filed)
and now they advise you NOT to go ahead with ACP.

What are u going to do ? Are your lawyers saying choose I485 over ACP when
INS responds to your I824 asking you to withdraw one of them ?

Do you know if INS can automatically cancel your I485 while acting on
the I824 which was sent ? (if it is not already approved by that time).
