  • How many days between Medical and Visa interview?

    Hello,

My parents DQ was August 21st, 2023 and their interview is scheduled for Friday, Dec 29th, 2023. They need to travel to Mumbai and get their Medical, Biometrics/VAC and Interview all done in the same trip as there is no facility for these where we live. I am trying to determine dates for which I need to schedule the medical and biometrics appointments and if the sequence between the 2 is important.

    1. The NVC email mentions to keep a minimum of 7 days between Medical and the Visa Interview. Since their interview is on Dec 29th, will scheduling the medical for 22nd be fine? That will give 7 calendar days (not business days) between the 2 appointments. Or do you recommend that I should schedule for 21st or 20th?

    2. Can I do the VAC appointment after the medical? Thinking of first scheduling the medical and then scheduling the VAC appointment between medical and visa interview appointment.

    3. Does the 180 days clock to enter the US start from the day of the medical or from the day of the visa interview?

Thanks a lot in advance for any responses - would really appreciate insights!

Just wanted to give an update. I have booked the appointment with Rele Clinic for 21st Dec and the person there assured that the results would come in time for the Dec 29th interview. And I was able to find from this forum that biometric can happen after the medical - there no specific order between the 2.

      Hi js2023,

One question. Does Rele Clinic allow the petitioner child (residing in US) to communicate with them from abroad about parent's medical exams/results ? Or, do the parents have to communicate themselves for privacy reasons? I am asking this as some parents (like my parent, who will be an IR5 applicant next year) may not be comfortable communicating/understanding languages other than their mother tongue.

        Hi Aviask2,

The petitioner child can communicate with Rele Clinic. They called us the next day after we did the online request for an appointment. And spoke to my father and me. The Rele Clinic person gave us their ******** number and we have corresponded using that number.
