IR5 Visa Expiry

My mother-in-law fell in shower the same day she was leaving for us. she has 3 fractures in her hip and is advised a complete bed rest for 6-8 weeks. Her visa expires on Dec 29th. She won't be able to travel before it expires.

How do I request extension of visa expiry date?
