  • Filing I-130 for my son. Which options would be the fastest/easiest

Hello fellow immigrants and readers. I am a US born citizen who lived most of my life outside the United States. I would like to move along with my son (who doesn't have American citizenship) to the US by this fall or winter maximum, so that my son doesn't get too far behind in high school. I have read the instructions and I know that I should file the I-130 for my son's immigration and provide all the needed documents and evidence. We are currently living in Egypt.
We have called the American Embassy in Egypt and they informed us that it is faster if I apply directly from the US. This means that I should travel to the US and apply from an office there, then maybe come back, and wait for the interview date. Is this method faster than applying regularly through the embassy in Egypt? Keep in mind that the immigration queues in Egypt might be a little overloaded. Will it be easier to apply directly from the US? Feel free to ask me further questions or give me advice. Thanks

I think there is an American child born policy and you just need to report to US embassy and they will give you his US passport but it looks you did not do it when he was born so please check with US embassy. if you want to sponsors your son then it will take around 6 months to 1 year and you can go to USCIS.gov for application and instruction.

    Thanks!
