L2 to f1 visa and f1 to h1 (l2 is expiring on 1st september)

Hi Guys i am new to this post i hope someone will answer my questions. Here is the brief snap shot of my case.

1. I am on l2 visa which is getting expired on 1st September 2013.(I-94 is also getting expire the same day)
2. I applied for H1b in the reqular quota and waiting for the lottery results.

Here is what i want to know.

1. Can i change my status from L2 to F1.
2. How much time does it take take to complete the whole process from I-20 till change of status. (If F1 gets approved)
3. If i get approved for H1 can i again switch back from F1 to H1. (As i already mention on the top that i already applied for H1b and waiting for the lottery reults). Is there
any other way out or i have the option of transfer only from F1 to H1. Everyone please give your best options.


Kindly please throw some lights on this. All your suggestion and comments will really make a great help.
