Re-issue of lost passport issued from a different region

Hi Team,

Few days back, i lost my passport a couple of hours before my visa interview in Chennai. I live in Bangalore and my passport was issued from Chandigarh. Now, i got the missing certificate from police. Can you please guide me how can i apply for re-issue of my passport from Bangalore without going to Chandigarh.

Also, can a passport agent help in this matter?
