  • PLEASE HELP - MIDDLE NAME different between Indian & US Passport (Issue for OCI)

All - Really looking for some help as i have been struggling to find how to handle this situation.

    Indian Passport: FirstName MiddleName LastName
US Passport + Naturalization Certificate: FirstName LastName

No Middle name included in US naturalization certificate as they go by birth certificate which just have my given name as my first name. US don't assume father's name as default (as done in India). Now applied to OCI and Travisa is requesting Name change document. From US stand point it isnt a name change. I sent them a notarized affidavit saying it is the same person but they don't accept that document and still insist either a court order OR a stamp on back of naturalization.

Any thoughts on how to go about this situation? I am not even sure where to start. Appreciate all your help in advance

    Hello,

I was wondering if you resolved this situation. We're in a similar predicament, but we're applying for a renunciation certificate. I'm thinking of sending a notarized affidavit as well. Please let us know if anything has worked for you and what you did to fix this dilemma. I sent a message earlier, but I don't know if it went through. Thank you so much.
