PIO card for child of former Indian Citizens

Hello,

I need to apply for an adult PIO card to be employed in India. I was born and raised in the U.S. My parents are former Indian citizens (currently reside and are citizens of U.S).
Do I still qualify for a PIO card? I thought I did qualify, but am now wondering if my parents need to be current Indian citizens or need to currently reside in India. If I can't apply through my parents, I can still apply due to my grandparents, but finding documentation to prove that will be difficult.

I've searched and tried emailing BLS without success. Any advice will be greatly appreciated!!

Since you were born to Indian parents and were eligible to be an Indian citizen at birth, and now you're an adult, you are eligible. Apply for OCI, though. It's a better deal.

I was born in America. Does your statement still apply for me?

I would apply for an OCI but I believe it is a longer processing time. Just because of the shorter processing time, I am applying for the PIO card.

Hello,

I have another problem now. Both of my parents are U.S citizens of Indian Origin. If I want to apply for OCI through them, is it ok if I only provide proof of nationality (so passports) of one parent? I don't have access to both their passports right now.
