    3. I did attach copies of parents' naturalization certificates.

Thanks K R for quick and to point responses. Really appreciate it.

I am also a little confused on the instructions and was searching online for help until I found this thread...thank god :-)

    Here are my questions.

    1. How many photos per each application form ? Is it just the one that we stick on OCI application front page? or one more loose one in addition to the first?

    2. While creating the BLS order form, it asks about airway bill for the both sending and receiving? So should we first take the complete package to fed-ex or usps and ask for the bill , then come back and then create the order form? once it is done re-insert the BLS form in package? Is that the idea? How did you guys do it?

    3. Since the kids are US born, do we still need to attach parents' naturalization certificates? I didnt think so, but just want to confirm.

    Thanks

    Hi KR,

As I mentioned I see an update on status on BLS site but never received an email from them. Is the email auto-generated when a status update happens on BLS site?

    Thanks,

I re-checked now, and see the following update on the status.

Current Aplication Status : Your OCI Application has been processed by the BLS Office and is ready to be sent to the Consulate. It may take to 2-3 working days for the status to change.

Would I need to check the passport.gov.in from here on? That website does seem to be up only during the evenings and night time.

GOI web site says the date of acknowledgement was 2/1, OCI documents printed on 2/3 and dispatched from MOIA Delhi on 2/4!

That is some incredibly quick processing! It's good news for all of us. The next status will be when the documents are received at SFO.

    Hi KR

That's great news. It has been processed to fast. Please keep updating on your status.

I checked my status and they have started updating their website as they just received my packet on Friday, so they have said that it will take 48 hours to check the documents and all the information. So it is just waiting time for me.

    Thanks
    KC

The OCI Misc application has multiple places for signature. The following sections must be signed correctly:

5.1 Each applicant must sign COMPLETELY inside the box on their form next to their picture. Minors who cannot write their name can use a thumbprint in black ink instead. If any part of the signature or thumbprint is outside of the box, the application will be rejected.

5.2 Each applicant must sign at the next to the 'Signature' line, including minor applicants. Minors who cannot write their name can use a thumbprint in black ink instead.

5.3 For minor applicants, both parents must sign the very bottom of the form in the parent/guardian section even if both parents are not applying for any OCI service. If only one parent is available to sign for the minor, proof of custody or a death certificate must be provided.
