  • Married to US citizen. Need India visa for wife

    Hello
I'm married to a United States citizen in July 2012 and we are planning to travel to India this year. She has never been to India. What kind of visa can I apply for her? I tried to contact BLS in San Francisco but they are of no help. Someone told me I cannot apply for tourist visa for her as she is married to Indian citizen. Also FYI I'm still Indian citizen with US green card.

Not true she can apply for a tourist visa, how much I know. She I presume cannot apply for entry visa since that is for former nationals. She can also apply for PIO if she never held the prohibited nations like Pakistani etc citizenship.

She has only been a US citizen. I am trying to apply for a PIO and I don't understand part of the form. Number 23, 24 and 25 including sub points. If I am applying based on spouse but I must answer all questions without using N/A how do I complete line 23 a, b, c and d? And regarding question 24 how do I denote that it is a spouse who was a resident not self, parent, grandparent or great-grandparent? As for 25 will a Green Card issued by US be sufficient? Also any suggestions on who would be sufficient for a notarized letter denoting our current marital status? Will my "In-laws" work?
