Help OCI - no birth certificate

Iwant to apply for OCI

I born in India and came to the UK in 1959, travelling on my Indian passport. When I took British citizenship, the home office never returned my Indian passport to him. This means I cannot apply for a surrender certificate.

Problem is I do not have my birth certificate.

My mother has an Indian passport.
