Hello, I have been searching for months, but just no one able to give correct answer, I had even visited Indian Consulate in Washington DC, and they just said look up on website to questions I had. My passport has been expired over 6 months back, and I am out of status. So far I only knew that, only Emergency Travel Document can be issued to one way travel back to India. However, after going to applications and few forums, I understand that short term validity passport is issued for out of status applications, to allow help in adjustment of status.
In list of requirement documents, I saw that location in washington dc doesn't require out of status affidavit form submitted, where as other in newyork etc do. Does that mean, they don't process application of my case? or just not required. If anyone has knowledge please do share experience or any helpful information as calling and visiting consulate is no help. Thank you.
