  • Does The Indian Consulate Verify eTicktes?

    Hello,

My OCI application has been processed by the govt. of India and has been received by the consulate. Seeing all the cases of lost passports I am a bit skeptical to submit my original passport to CKGS for the matchup process. The Indian consulate says that they will process only emergency matchups where you are travelling within a week. All others should go through CKGS.

My question is that if I book a temporary ticket, print out the itinerary and then cancel it will the embassy know that this is a **** emergency? Do they take the time to check if the ticket is valid?

    Thanks

I don't blame you - BLS lost our US passport and OCI card and it has been a pain trying to get answers so I applied for new US passport and now again for another OCI card.

Buy a fully refundable ticket and come back and post your experience else you can use FedEx or UPS and hopefully then CKGS doesn't blame them unlike BLS who kept saying USPS is at fault even though when there was no tracking or acceptance of package.

A temporary ticket can be easily verified as it does not have ticket number(s).

If you have more recent info then ignore my advice. But I went to CGI-NYC during second week of July for OCI match up. There were not many people for that and they did NOT ask about emergency travel proof etc for OCI match up. All in all more positive experience than I feared. So if nearby worth going.

Did you apply through BLS or CKGS?

You had applied with BLS, that is why they processed your match-up.
