Email for Passport Match up

hello guys,

when I tracked my application on Cox n kings website it states, my oci application has been processed for the past 2 weeks and the OCI card has been sent to the consulate, but I have not received and email or call stating to send my US passport in to the consulate for passport match up, I have called the cox and kings couple times in past couple days and have talked to 5 different people. 2 of them said just to go ahead and send the passport in to the consulate and others said to just wait for the email before sending in the passport.

Did anyone have this problem before or did anyone send the passport without getting email/call and got the match up done without any problems

Can you post the tracking details from CKGS website and GOI website so someone can help?

It seems that this is a very common problem with CKGS. There is this one guy who had to pester CKGS for two months to complete the matchup process. Even my application status has not been updated on their website despite me getting a call from CKGS asking me to send my passport for matchup.

This is what they say on their website...

Notice regarding OCI cards match-up procedure
In the case of all OCI applications, the applicants are notified by email about the arrival of the printed OCI Registration Cards and "U" Visas from New Delhi and are requested to send their current passports for match-up. It has been noticed that many applicants have not been monitoring or receiving the email notifications at the email addresses mentioned in their applications and this has led to delays in their dispatch of passports for match-up.

Henceforth, all OCI applicants are requested to monitor the status of their OCI applications online at:

https://www.passport.gov.in/oci/statusEnqury

Passports for match up must be sent to CKGS only

If you live nearby, go to their office with a printout of the status page, documents and receipts.

That is the problem. Most of these people are in India and have no idea what is happening here. Don't rely on their website being updated. I was told to send my passport along with a cover letter, a printout of the status page and a copy of the OCI application. I sent them all that plus a copy of the CKGS receipt which they had issued when I applied. They say it will take about 10 days. Let us see what happens.

I will suggest that you go to the application center with a printout of the status page. If you cannot, then send them your passport along with all the documents I mentioned above.

I saw a noticed on their website today on CKGS stating to send passports only to CKGS for match-up, so I called them up again today and told them I have not received an email or call to send in passport even though online my status shows the OCI has been processed since July 22nd. The guy on the phone said to send in the passport and the printout of online status to the CGKS even though I have not received an email or call from them for passport matchup. So I just went ahead and sent in the passports, the print out of online status,and a cover letter. He told it will take up to 13 days. I will keep you updated if anything happens

It is amazing that it is taking up to 2 months just for matching the passport. Didn't Indian Embassy fired BLs for not being responsive. Looks like everyone at BLS is back at CKGS. One gets a boiler plate reply from these guys anyways.

I still trying to understand what benefit is it for the Indian Embassy to outsource these applications even though they (embassy personnel) end up doing most of the work anyways. Only thing these paper pushers are doing is adding time to the entire process.
