I hold US passport. I have PIO. I was travelling recently and when I reached India during all the commotion I lost my PIO card. Since it was a family emergency, I was able to explain to the immigration officer and they granted me stay 72 hours - TLP.
I went to local FRRO office and they graciously agreed to accept my duplication PIO application. But my TLP has expired and they said it is ok to stay in India while the application is being processed. They mentioned I can apply for exit visa in case I need to travel.
I do not have any document that says I have a visa extension. Can someone please give me some pointers if you have encountered such situation? I asked them to extend my VISA and they said there is no need. Please help!!!!
