Hey guys, i need help with my current situation. Me and my brother have applied for OCI back in November 2014 and We got a call back from the Consulate of India Chicago saying that me and my brother cannot apply for OCI because one of my parents are not U.S. citizens. My dad was a U.s. citizen but he had passed away in 2001, but we are applying under my mom as she is the primary person that we live with. I was told to apply for a PIO card by the Consulate General of India in Chicago but know i cannot download the forms from the CKGS website as it says that PIO applications will no longer be accepted. At first the lady at the consulate said that i could apply for OCI if i sent in my dads U.S. passport copy's and my Dads old Indian passport. The thing is we don't know where the passport is because it has been more than 10 years and my mom is pretty sure that when my dad got citizenship he deposited his Indian passport. When i called back last week i was told that i could not apply for OCI because my dad who was a U.S. citizen had to be alive. What do i do? I am really frustrated dealing with this stupid people that are very rude.
