Can a Minor holding valid entry visa apply for OCI Card?

Hi,

We are planning to apply for Indian Entry Visa for my minor daughter born in US. They are planning to travel in March 2015. Because it takes mininum 60 days to get OCI, therefore, we are planning to apply for Entry Vsia. Following are my questions:

1) Can we apply for OCI card even if my daughter holds a valid entry visa? or Do i need to apply for OCI only after expiration of her Entry Visa?

2) If the answer to above question is no, then, can we apply for OCI card for my daughter once we permanently return to India?

3) Is it possible to apply for Entry Visa and OCI simultaneously to save time. Entry visa will allow her to travel and by the time she returns, the OCI application processing should have been done. Is it possible to do it this way?

Please provide suggestions.

OCI vs Visitor vs Entry visas

Hi,
I am in a similar situation as yours. My son is to travel on June 7th to India and planning to stay till October 31st (5 months approx).
I know OCI would take 2-4 months of time. So I could go for a safer option now.

Question1. Which one should i apply and when is the right time to apply considering that visa duration is only for 6 months? Visitor visa or Entry visa?
Question2. Also, how long does CKgs wait to accept US Passport, incase i apply for OCI and my son travels to India using one of the visitor or entry visas?
