Good day everyone,
A friend of mine is an Indian citizen and has been living in America for the past 15 years or so. She came here on a regular visitor visa that has expired a long time ago. She has been renewing her visa with BLS in New York without any problems last couple years. This time around all of a sudden BLS is saying that they will not renew the passport because of "No Status." The rules clearly state that somebody who has expired visa has to submit a No Status Affidavit and photocopy of Indian passport and GC of two witnesses. We have submitted this already and yet BLS is refusing to renew the passport. She is extremely frustrated and stressed out because of this. Does anyone here know if there was some change in the Indian Passport Act about this? ANY suggestions or input is truly appreciated!
