OCI renewal pending, New US Passport, PIO Unendorsed - Travel requirements?

My son (minor) is a US passport holder. He has a PIO card. His earlier passport expired and has got a new US passport. The PIO card has the earlier US passport number. We are planning to visit India next month.

I have applied for his OCI card last month. If in case it doesn't arrive before our travel, what are my options?

PIO or Visa?

I saw many posts on the internet saying it is OK for him to travel, if his new passport number is not endorsed on PIO Card, if he carries New and Old passports, along with current PIO card. Is there a link to a Govt website stating the same? Is this rule still true in his case?

He can travel with old passport that PIO is based upon and current passport along with PIO card. You can send email to consulate and print their response to show at immigration, usually it is not an issue that too for minor children.

Thanks. Did as you said. Consulate confirmed that he can travel with PIO and both passports, even though OCI is pending.

Its OK to travel with both passports.. No need of endorsements..

I am in same boat as you, can you please tell me where do we get the Consular facility (NY area) email address? Currently while trying the option "contact us", it is taking to CKGS website.
