Hello all,
I recently applied for my OCI in lieu of PIO card and submitted the documentation on 11/17/15. I received notice on 11/24/15 that my application is now in transit to New Delhi. My tentative travel date to India is 2/5/16 and I am worried that the OCI will not return in time for the trip (I do not want to purchase the plane ticket until I complete the OCI match-up process). However, even though my OCI application is being processed, could I apply for an e-visa as a backup? That way, I can book my ticket now with a peace of mind of knowing that I can use the e-visa even if the OCI does not arrive in time. I am not sure if it will cause any type of issues/mix-up though. Thoughts?
