Marriage Registration Certificate application for oci on spouse basis
My friend Mr C aplied for Oci on the basis of being married for more than 2 years and on the basis of spouse having Oci. He submitted his documents and Marriage Certificate ( not Registered) which was made by their Community in
Nakuru Kenya . His marriage took place in 1970, His case is pending for want of Marriage Registration certificate, which he has not. to get the same he has to give notice and apply for the same after certain period and is time consuming.
On approaching High Commssion of India, he was told to get certified .He approached Kenya High Commssion and got it authenticated. The Fact is he is married since 1970, Though his marriage not registered is a legitimate marriage and
as he is married since 1970, i feel that he should be granted Oci on the basis of spouse rule. The file is pending with High commssion of India London since Long .
