Hi. I submitted OCI application for my son in first week of February. I just got a message from OCI- your Passport has been Withdrawn successfully, Kindly Collect your passport by Using any (In Person/ Prepaid/ FedEx ) Service.
What does this mean?

Were all the documents verified and accepted? In my case my renunciation document was not available and so basically they simply canceled the application (never forwarded it to the consulate). I am going to have apply afresh with a new OCI form et al. when it arrives. Some more details from your side would help to confirm if your case is the same.

Yes. I did submit all my documents. And they said OCI application has been received and under process. And now they send this mail yesterday stating to collect our passports. I am not sure but I think they send your originals back after the OCI application has been submitted.

No worries. It means all documents are verified and Indian consulate accepted your app. They are giving back the passports.

Correct. It just seems the word 'withdrawn' is very confusing. Same happened to me and it said your passport has been withdrawn. I was worried sick as to why was it withdrawn? It is just a poor choice of words. Instead of saying it is withdrawn, they should simply say originals have been verified and are being returned. I hope someone with better English skills creates these status messages.

Does this mean my OCI application cannot be rejected now?

Hi Syeda, Can you please post your timeline in detail? I.e when the application reached CKGS, and when did you receive the passports back? I applied on 23rd Feb and I am still waiting for my original documents....
Also did you get ALL your original documents back? (other than passports)

Hi Narayanak. We sent our documents on February 15. CKGS sent us a message on 18 February that they received the OCI APPLICATION ANS ITS UNDER PROCESS. Feb 23- message that its online hold due to missing documents. Documents submitted the same day. 26 February PASSPORT WITHDRAWAL MESSAGE. Received my passports and name change documents on march 1.

Feb 23- message that its online hold due to missing documents. Documents submitted the same day. 26 February PASSPORT WITHDRAWAL MESSAGE. Received my passports and name change documents on march 1.
