Simplyfy OCI process Petition

Someone has initiated a petition to India Govt for simplifying the OCI process. You can go to www[dot]change[dot]org and search for oci. I have attached the link below.

maybe you should also include about notary. In US notary just validates that you signed in front of her/him. They don't attest true copy.
It is a big hassle and expensive to require notarization of all documents (which anyways is useless).

absolutely agree. signed it today. OCI was supposed to make NRI lives easier; instead it has made it much worse to obtain and travel with one.

Honestly.. what exactly consulate will do multiple docs of same applicant?. Isn't it slow down their work.?. Conversion process means it should be simpler one and NOT restarting the process.

CKGS already do the scrutiny work, those lazy **** just do the easiest job and watching movies

OCI process is horrendous. I do not blame CKGS for this, its our dump government officials who made such requirements. In this modern world, can you imagine we make multiple copies of the same application and send one copy to Embassy and another copy to CKGS and also upload the same documents to their website. Really stupid idea. I am pretty sure they may scan all our application load again. At the end I am sure they will throw all our paper documents. JUST IMAGINE HOW MANY PAPER DOCUMENTS ARE WASTED FOR THIS STUPIDITY.

Notarizing is ANOTHER STUPIDITY: It is a waste of time and money. None of the Notary in America check the validity of your document. They simply affix their stamp.

Photo upload and Signature upload: I don't know who is that real DUMP who created that page with size limitation and pixel limitation. Majority of the common people doesn't have any knowledge of pixel correction of their photo and signature.

Another one is the SIZE limitation (300k) of your documents to upload.

There are many to point out. Is a real waste of my time.

I always wonder....

When driving license was issued by verification of legal status and actual passport then why cant others use driving license and copy of passport as valid document?. Why do they need original copy of passport and Driving license?.

Yday I went to Bank to open a checking account, manager was insisting me to get passport to verify. When I asked him above question he was clueless.. he said.. I am just following the process.
