OCI signature on white background - how to do it?

Hi,

I am in the middle of applying for my OCI and having lots of problems. The latest difficulty is trying to get the background of the signature white. When I called CKGS they said it was not necessary, but on the OCI instructions at their website, it clearly says the signature needs a white background. Well, I signed on a random white sheet and then took a picture with a smart phone and uploaded it to the application. But though the size is right, the background is brownish. I tried Paint, but I don't know how to change the background to white. Even if I follow the steps given at various sites, to click on the different icons and fill-in color 2, it still remains brown. Can anyone help, or do I need to go to a photo studio to get this done.

I must say this is the most awful bureaucratic process I have experienced. It has taken me months to get some documents, many more months to understand what they mean, and now the signature is giving me trouble. Is there a computer program on the net I can use? Help.

Use a scanner and crop to the size. Make sure to select resolution as specified by CKGS and also not to exceed the size of the file.
