  • OCI for minor - Signature Questions

    Hello,

I am applying OCI for my son who is just a year old and am preparing the necessary documents for notary. I thought I could get help from some of you on a few questions because many things are not clear to me.

    1) For Part B, Section 33 - Applicant's signature, Should we leave it blank or use his thumbprint?

    2) For other forms such as Disclaimer, Additional Particular forms, can we both sign on his behalf?

    3) Should we get "Affidavit in lieu of Originals"?

    4) We are Indian citizens and am submitting our self attested Indian passports along with the application. Should we check #9 in the Document Checklist? The wordings are so confusing - what do they mean by "Parents US / Non-US passport?" Of course, Indians would be categorized under "Non-US".

Similarly #14 asks for Proof of Indian Origin, I can submit our passports copy. If #9 also needs to be checked, should we submit two copies our passport?

    5) What do they mean "Please enclose a Self-attested copy" for all the supporting documents that are submitted in Original. Except the application form, nothing else is Original. I am very confused by this. We are anyway getting notary for Part-B, should we self-attest Part-A?
