Atlanta screwing up OCI matchup
Hi, I am having the same problem at Atlanta. The embassy got the card from Delhi on the 10th early morning and promptly updated the site.
Meanwhile, CKGS has still not updated or sent me a notice or even acknowledged receiving the passport, which was delivered to them on the morning of the 11th.
I have made over a dozen calls, all sent to the call center in India, which parrots the same line. Then I called the Atlanta Consulate, which was very efficient and polite and said I should never have sent the matchup to CKGS at all. But that is what the procedure on the OCI page says. The embassy also called CKGS to do their job, but the excuse is that 14th was a holiday! Never mind that they had 11th, 15th, 16th, and now 17th. The simple task of updating a website or informing the customer is beyond them.
I have a flight on 25th which I booked when the OCI card came to India, because CKGS told me the match-up would take less than 2 weeks. What a mess.
GOI was actually exemplary.
Such a sad reflection on CKGS. The call center personnel in India are actually great and helpful, but have no authority to do anything. It is the center itself which is incompetent.
By the way, why is a British firm taking all these sensitive documents from Indian Americans? Are we now fully under the British empire?
