PIO to OCI conversion deadline and after that?

I want to convert PIO to OCI but the problem is we are travelling to India in June 1st week.
Worried this OCI comes before 1st JUNE?
If not what are my options here can we do this after coming back in AUG 2017?
Can we travel after june 30th with PIO?

CKGS website says "All PIO cards issued till 09 January 2015 are deemed to be valid lifelong. However, it is highly recommended that you apply for an OCI". Also, many people in this forum are not converting their PIOs to OCI as PIO is valid for lifetime.

If you want to apply for OCI in lieu of PIO, the processing timelines are different for each jurisdiction. If you belong to NY, then you might get back the OCI in 7 to 10 business days provided current PIO was issued by NY before. Else, it would take 30 days for NY jurisdiction.
