  • Processing time for Indian Visa

Hi..I have applied for my citizenship recently & im waiting for my interview to be scheduled..Last week I got to know that I would need to travel to India in February..I'm hoping I will get my citizenship my late December or early Jan..After which I'm planning to apply for U.S passport by using the same day feature..My question is how long does renunciation & getting a Visa take? I sent an email to ckgs & they basically said there is no expedited process..I can't believe we don't have an expedited process in place..I'm worried if I get my U.S passport by say Jan 20th & say I would need to fly by Feb 20th would 3 weeks be enough for renunciation & getting Visa ..I need to got to India only for 2 weeks..what is the best approach you guys think I should take..Appreciate your thoughts..if this process is going to get delayed I'm considering to reschedule my Oath ceremony that way I could travel in Green Card but I would hate to that..so anyone who have recently filed for renunciation & Visa would like to know your experience..

    Thanks

the most fastest and less risk is to apply e-visa, if you only stay for one month single entry visiting to India, otherwise, apply regular 10 years visa with Renunciation, you will receive the visa to travel, after month or more will receive your Indian passport and the Renunciation Certificate in mail.
