Application for OCI + Renunciation from Houston consulate....

Hi, I am traveling to India on June 30, 2018. I am sending in my OCI application (since I was forced to get it for property related issues) monday 04/09 to the Houston consulate. Houston says that the processing time should be 45 days. Is it safe to send in the application now if the travel is on June 30, 2018. Thanks for your help.
