PIO for new born

Can anyone please tell me the steps to get PIO for new born, the documents required. How much time It takes to get her US birth certificate? How much time it takes to get PIO? I plan to travel to India, so how long will this take? PLease help

Hi,

You should get birth ceritifcate within 1 week of the birth.
They take the particulars at hospital and you get Birth ceritifcate at your county office for payment of $12/copy.

It takes 2 months to get the US passport.

I did ICI for my kid which tool approx 2.5 mnths. I am not sure about PIO.
