  • Extending Visa in India

    Hi,

My son who is US Citizen by birth stays with us in Pune. We had got him X ( Entry ) visa for 5 yrs which is abt to expire in Aug 2007.

    1) I read thru the information on various minsitry of home affairs website & it appears that I can extend the visa with the local FRO office ( Police Commission office in Pune). Wanted to confirm that.

    2) Now that my son will start going to first standard, should I be getting him a student visa and not an entry visa?

    Regards

    apply for PIO card

You can apply for PIO card. It allows your son to study without any problem. If you have PIO card, you don't need student visa.

      Hi,

Is there any difference in Fees charged by the schools for PIO students?

What are the other differences? does the kid required to use the NRI quots for admissions?

Please help. My son is US Passport + PIO case.

      Thanks,

No difference in school fee, by the time college comes around the child can decide whether to keep US passport or Indian passport.
