Yes. But you would have to renounce your British citizenship to do so.

Based on the facts described - father is Indian citizen, you are residing in UK, you would be "a person of Indian origin who is ordinarily resident in any country or place outside undivided India" and so are eligible for Indian citizenship by registraton under Sec. 5(b) of the Indian Citizenship Act.

email from the consulate stating that it takes 1 to 2 weeks to get through. I am
